As Hawk Boy’s music fades to a whisper, the crowd reaction becomes louder with boos. It doesn’t take long for the booing to be turned into a low cheer as the lights go out, leaving the arena black.
J.R.: Here we go, King!
The Great Muta’s music starts to play over the speakers, making the cheering go a bit louder. The stage lights up slightly, highlighting the fog that creeps down over the ramp in a vibrant purple. The theme music plays maybe for forty seconds before Muta actually shows himself, sans Slick, in his Great Kabuki-themed entrance gear.
We see a quick shot of Hawk Boy who eyes The Great Muta as he walks down the ramp. When we come back to The Great Muta, he’s at ringside, approaching the ring steps.
J.R.: This is how it all ends. This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. The first ever DHWA Smoking Skull Champion is about to be crowned!
King: It’s hard to believe J.R.. There are no two men who deserve this spot more than they do right now. No matter the outcome, J.R., these two are both winners.
J.R.: Nicely put, King.
The Great Muta scales the steps, placing his taped fingers around the barbed wire ropes that haven’t been turned on yet. With aid of the referee, who wears specially designed gloves to handle the ropes, Muta enters, pulling the red stands of hair from his wig from the blades to enter fully.
Hawk Boy stands directly across from Muta, observing his opponent well, looking for a weak spot.
Muta’s music fades and Lillian Garcia takes a step forward.
Lillian Garcia: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the DHWA Smoking Skull Championship!
We see a shot of Hawk Boy, loosening his muscles as he is introduced.
Lillian Garcia: Introducing first, from Buzzard’s Bay, weighing in at 186 pounds: HAWWWWKKK BOOOYYYYY!!!
A resounding boo is heard for the heel.
Lillian Garcia: And his opponent…
We cut to The Great Muta who’s still in full entrance gear.
Lillian Garcia: From the Land of the Rising Sun, weighing in at 230 pounds, the pearl of the Orient, The Great Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttaaa!!!
The Great Muta raises his right hand, up to the inside of the jaw of the Oni mask, ripping it off his face, spitting green mist into the air, staining some of the wig that came off with the mask. Muta undoes his jacket, throwing it outside of the ring. Lillian is helped out of the ring by some DHWA referees, exiting without a scratch. The ref inside the ring gives someone at ringside a thumbs up.
Lillian Garcia: Ladies and gentlemen, I have been told that the barbed wire is now functioning and is rigged to explode when an opponent is whipped into the ropes.
The ref inside the ring places on a pair of safety goggles before calling for the bell, starting the match.

The match begins and the two likely champions circle the ring before locking up. The Great Muta locks in a headlock, but Hawk Boy wiggles out, hitting the veteran with a lightning fast arm wrench. Muta grasps his twisted Shoulder before reversing the hold into a hammer lock. The hold isn’t in long before Muta pushes Hawk Boy with all his strength, sending him towards the ropes, but Hawk Boy uses his speed to skid just inches in front of the barbed wire, leaving him unscathed, the fans relaxing.
The Great Muta pursues Hawk Boy, but the cruiserweight wiggles between his legs, locking him into a sleeper, scissoring his waist. Muta’s hands interject themselves in between Hawk Boy’s hold, tossing him to his back. Hawk Boy tries to get up, but his hit with a running boot to his head, leveling him to the mat. The Great Muta goes for a pin, only getting a two.
This brings the pearl of the Orient in control, bringing Hawk Boy to his feet. He whips Hawk Boy into the barbed wire, making him twist and turn in it as white sparks explode from the blades, making the high-flyer limply fall to his knees, the wire still clung into his back. Muta untangles the wire, laying Hawk Boy down, pinning him for a two.
It doesn’t take long for Hawk Boy to get revenge. Muta’s confidence gets the best of him as he goes for a ribbreaker, Hawk Boy acting quickly, tossing Muta into the explosive wiring with an armdrag. Muta convulses himself free upon impact, falling to his face, his bare back blackened. Hawk Boy goes for a pin, but gets a two.
The match is fairly limited, but Hawk Boy’s tenacity shines through after being whipped by The Great Muta, actually springboarding off the barbed wire, making it explode! Hawk Boy lands behind Muta, hitting him in the back with a dropkick, sending his face into the sparks, blinding him momentarily. With time to buy, Hawk Boy calls for the razor board. The refs slide it in to the cruiserweight who slides it to the center of the ring. He picks Muta up and slams him to the razor-filled board with a snap suplex!
JR: "What a crazy match!"
The King: "I'll be shocked if they both make it out alive."
Hawk Boy goes for the pin, but only gets a two again! He picks Muta up and whips him into the barbed wire. Upon impact, Muta falls backwards to the outside, clutching his back. Hawk Boy takes a few steps back, making the fans start to freak out. Hawk Boy charges at the now standing Muta, aiming for a suicide dive, but gets tangled up into the barbed wire, having his head stuck in between, the pyro exploding around him. Muta instantly dives forward with a green mist! Hawk Boy grabs his face, pulling himself back into the ring, falling to his knees! The Great Muta slides underneath the bottom barbed wire rope, not triggering it, but getting a long scratch down his already blood-soaked back.
Hawk Boy grabs his face as he starts to get up, but is hit with a shining wizard, making him fall back onto the razor board! Muta goes for the cover, getting the win and the DHWA Smoking Skull Championship!
