FRIDAY NIGHT MASSACRE
Main Event
30 Minute Iron Man Match
Cody Rhodes vs. KENTA
From the moment these two got into the ring, they filled the arena with excitement. Both stars fought with real passion and a true desire to both win and hurt one another. As the bell rang the the 30-Minute count down began the two rushed after each other and fist went flying. The Second Generation Superstar was no match for the former amateur kickboxer and found himself laying on the mat with a huge egg under his eye in just few seconds. KENTA with the guidance of his translator continued with the onslaught and delivered multiple bone-crunching stops before having to be pulled away from the wounded Cody Rhodes. The arena was on fire! Cheers resonated to every corner of the arena as KENTA held his hand in the air with pride- waiting for his adversary to start the bout. Manifestly Cody was beginning to regret ever issuing the open challenge.
The first pin fall came about ten minutes into the match when Cody fled the ring for a moment, allowing himself to gain some composer and time to shake the cobwebs from his head. He quickly re-entered the four-side battleground and delivered a swift kick to the midsection of KENTA and followed up with a powerful Silver Spoon DDT! The fans booed him for the next five minutes as he kept the upper hand.
Luck was not with him moments later however when KENTA found himself on the top rope and he annihilated Cody Rhodes with a Falcon Arrow. The biggest pop was heard when a pinfall was counted for the Japan native.
There was some great back and fourth action throughout the remainder of the match, both taking turns kicking each others asses. The last pinfall came down to the last 45 seconds of the match. Cody had KENTA's head secured under his armpit, prepared for another Silver Spoon DDT, however the Asian All-Star was not ready to let that happen. Very impressively KENTA lowered his shoulder and reversed the hold- picking Rhodes up into a Fireman's Carry. KENTA propelled Rhodes into the air and simultaneously raised his knee up. With amazing force KENTA's lightly padded knee cap smashed into the Dashing One's facial features and knocked him out cold for the second time tonight! The fans chanted along as the ref counted the final three count for the night.
Victor: KENTA
Match Two
Single Match
Diego Cortez vs. The Great MUTA
Hands down this was the match of the night! The fans loved every second of it and you could tell they were slightly disappointed when it ended. Diego and MUTA stood toe-to-toe in the center of the ring for several seconds after the sounding of the bell, until a slug fest broke out. Rights and lefts went flying everywhere and the ref stood as far out of both men's way as he could. TGM took an early lead when he staggered Cortez with a double jab and a hook, knocking him into the corner. MUTA capitalized and ran into him with a lariat, before pulling him out of the corner only to Irish Whip him across the ring and into the opposing corner. Again MUTA charged at former inmate but at the last second Diego raised his boot into the air and straight into the masked face of MUTA, leaving him back peddling.
What Diego did next shocked the entire audience. He climbed his 260 pound frame up to the top rope and went airborne. In midair he tilted his body, indicating he was going for a quite common- Flying Crossbody. The high risk move landed spot on, with his chest colliding with that of MUTA's taking him straight to the canvas in a devastating manner. Cortez hooks a leg and attempts a pin, but only gets a two count. His short fuse is lit and he begins lightly shoving the ring offical, a foolish move on his part as he allowed time for MUTA to regain his bearings. When the women-beater turns around he walks straight into a cloud of red mist and his eyes instantly begins to burn. A wide, red-strained grin creeps across MUTA's face. Dropping to his knees in pain, Cortez puts himself in the perfect position for MUTA's shinning wizard. Which ultimately cost him the match.
Victor: The Great MUTA
Match One
Single Match
Zack Ryder vs. Steve Corino
One hell of a match to kick start Friday Night Massacre's first ever card! These two athletes put their all into the match and the fans reacted to it with tremendous boisterousness. Zack took the ball into his court early in the game after flattening his adversary with a dropkick and subsequently continued to keep the pressure. When the ref wasn't looking, Steve dropped to his knees and threw a balled fist directly into the tender groin of Ryder. Reacting like any real man would, the Internet Champion dropped to the canvas. Like a snake, the King of Old School slide on top of Zack and locked in a Cobra Clutch. Zack shows just how much he wanted to be in the DHWA and powered through the submission move. A pissed off Steve released the lock and viciously pulled him to his feet by the Internet Sensation's styled hair. From behind, Steve locked his hands in front of the Broskie's waist and reclined backwards with a move he calls "Warrior's Dream". Much to the displeasure of the DHWA fans, Steve Corino was able to pick up the victory.
